Stella Jane Ulicni

February 2, 1921 — November 4, 2021

Stella Ulicni fell asleep in death on Nov. 4, 2021 at St. Luke's Care Center in
Blue Earth at 100 years of age.

A Zoom memorial will be held December 18, 2021 at 3:00.

From the time she was born in St. Louis, Missouri on Feb 2, 1921 her parents,
Virgil Bryan and Lillie Barsotti, taught her to love Jehovah, the Creator of everything,
and to follow the example of Jesus as a Christian. She joined her parents in missionary
work throughout rural areas of the United States during The Depression. She married
Joseph Ulicni on May 2, 1941 and together they taught the good news of the Kingdom
throughout their married life. After being widowed Stella experienced the truth of
Psalms 92:14,15, “ Even during gray-headedness they will still be thriving, they will
remain vigorous and fresh, declaring that Jehovah is upright. He is my Rock.”

Stella was known for wearing stylish hats when the occasion was right. By
extension, she figuratively wore many 'hats' in her lifetime. She worked alongside her
husband in their construction business and cooked for thousands of people, both in her
home and at large conventions. In addition, she was a delegate to international
conventions of Jehovah's Witnesses in Europe and Central America. She could sew a
wedding dress, wallpaper a house, get a friendship quilt going for many young brides,
quilt something special, and share words of wisdom at any time. Her cellar was filled
with home-grown and canned goodness. Plus, she loved to fish and share the catch. Her
shoulder was there for anyone who needed some support and her heart was open to
anyone who needed her. She was a loyal caregiver for her children, grandchildren,
nieces and nephews, parents, sisters, and friends without number. Her home was a
haven for those traveling through Mankato in their ministry and families that had a
someone in the Mankato hospital and needed a place to stay.

Her support and reliability made her special. If you graduated, got married, had a
baby shower, were sick or grieving, she was there. That is her legacy and the lifestyle
she will resume after this brief pause.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, two sisters, Patricia and
Gloria: brother-in-law Norris :nephews, Scott Sorell, Gordan Miller, Roger Mix: niece,
Karen Ciske: and great-nephew Craig Sorell.

She is survived by her daughter Lois ( Quinn) Harbo of Fairmont, her son David
Ulicni of St. Paul, great-niece Jessica (Randy) Smith of North Mankato, three
grandchildren Nick (Dinah) Harbo of Fairmont, Reid (Veronica) Harbo of Tuxedo Park,
NY and Allison (Jake) Newstrom of St. Paul, and two great- grandchildren – Joshua and
Sophia Harbo, along with nieces, Susan Macbeth, Carol Lee Miller and nephews Herb
(Pam) Sorell, Don Ciske, Phill Ciske, and Robert (Connie) Mayes.
