William "Bill" Trebesch

May 21, 1958 — October 30, 2023

Truman

William “Bill” Joseph Trebesch, age 65 of Truman, passed away on October 30, 2023 due to complications of heart failure. Funeral services will be held at 11am on Tuesday, November 7, 2023 at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Truman. A time for visitation will be held from 5-7pm on Monday at Zaharia Funeral Home and one hour prior to the service at church. Burial will take place at Fort Snelling National Cemetery on a later date. Web tributes may be left at www.zahariafamilyfuneral.com.

Bill was born on May 21, 1958 in Redwood Falls, the 4th of 12 children, to Delmer and Bonnie (Kopischke) Trebesch. He was baptized June 22, 1958 in Clements, MN and confirmed in May of 1972 in Sanborn, MN. He attended grade school in Sanborn before moving to the Arlington Area. Bill graduated from AGI in 1976. After high school, he enlisted in the United States Marine Corps, serving from 1976-1981. On October 20, 1981, Bill married Connie Riebe. The couple would later separate, but of this union came 3 children, Melissa, Samantha and Lucas. In September 2004, Bill went on a blind date with Janell Halverson, who would become the love of his life. They were instantly a match, as if it was meant to be. The two married on September 12, 2009.

Over his lifetime, Bill worked various jobs, including Trebesch Construction, a nurse’s aid in Waconia, and Dahl Trucking, where he worked until his health declined in 2013. Bill enjoyed deer hunting, dirt biking in his younger years, cruising around town on the golf cart with Janell and his grandkids, the demo derby, casinos, and going on scenic drives in the country. Bill was curious and mischievous with a big imagination, and always a jokester. He loved his friends and to be social, always shooting the breeze. Most of all, he loved his family and spending time with his grandkids. He will be missed.

Left to cherish his memory is his wife, Janell; daughter, Melissa (Michael) Neiert of Waconia, their children, Sophia and Ava; daughter, Samantha (Brian) Baxter of Dumont, their children, Kimber, Kendal and Edward; son, Lucas Trebesch of Arlington; stepdaughter, Jennifer Lingl (fiancé, Tederian Hughes) of Fairmont, Riley, Jadyne, E’sen, and Zayvian; stepson, Benjamin Bents (significant other, Brittany Neppl) of Sioux Falls; Andrew Bents (significant other, Miranda Stahn) of Sherburn; siblings, Michael (Deb) Trebesch of Winthrop, Steve (Tammy) Trebesch of Hamburg, James Trebesch of Belle Plaine, Joy (Bob) Schwanke of Glencoe, Jill (Curt) Vorlicek of Cold Spring, John (Monica) Trebesch of Hamburg, Kipp (Debbie) Trebesch of Green Isle, Precious (fiancé, George) Stier of Hutchinson, and Mark (fiancée, Jen) Trebesch of Henderson; father and mother-in-law, Marlen and Ginger Halverson; brothers-in-law, Mark (Janet) Halverson of Truman and Mike (Denise) Halverson of Kerrville, Texas; 14 nieces and nephews; 20 great-nieces and nephews; and many more family and friends.
