Russell Nagel

Russell Arthur Nagel, age 95 passed away Wednesday June 15, 2022, at Parker Oaks Senior Living in Winnebago. A joint memorial service will be held for Russ and his wife Harriet on Thursday June 30^th at 1pm at Zaharia Family Funeral Home in Truman. Visitation will be one hour before the service. Burial will be at Ridgelawn Cemetery in Truman.

Russ was born March 4, 1927, to August and Francis (Handy) Nagel in Lewisville. He was raised in educated in Lewisville along with his 4 siblings. After completing school, he entered the Army Air Corp and proudly served our country for two years, being stationed in France for some of that time. On January 17, 1951, he married the love of his life, Harriet Nelson. They would spend the next 70 years together. In 1957 they moved to a farm just east of Lewisville and farmed there until 1972. After retiring from farming, they moved to Fairmont where Russ worked for Railway Motors until 1992.

Left to cherish his memory is his only son, Perry (Lyn) Nagel of Cotopaxi, CO; grandchildren, Shane (Stella) Nagel of Fairmont and Dustin (Katie) Nagel of Castle Rock, CO; great-grandchildren, Cody Nagel of Fairmont, Abby Nagel of Castle Rock, CO, and Diana Nagel of Castle Rock, CO.

He is preceded in death by his wife Harriet (January 3, 2022), his parents and his siblings Doris, Alice, Kenneth, Bobby and infant sister Mae.
