Patrick Leo Byrne

Patrick Leo Byrne, age 82 of Truman, passed away peacefully and surrounded by his family on Tuesday, April 4, 2023 at Mayo Clinic Health Systems in Fairmont.

A time for visitation will be held from 2-4pm on Saturday, April 8, 2023 at Zaharia Funeral Home in Truman. Private family services will be held prior to visitation.

Patrick was born on July 19, 1940 at home in Hazel Green Township to Cyril and Augusta (Hoppenjan) Byrne. He attended Cuba City High School in Wisconsin, and graduated in 1958. In August of 1958, Patrick enlisted in the United States Air Force. After his time in the service, he worked in the concrete construction and maintenance industry. On May 18, 1963, Patrick married Sharon Hardman in Cedar Rapids, Iowa.

He enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening, singing and cooking. Patrick also loved having a few beers with friends and was an avid sports fan. He and Sharon often enjoyed their time out on drives scouting deer.

Left to cherish his memory is his wife, Sharon; children, Allen (Mary) Byrne of Bunnlevel, NC, Michelle (Bryan) Swenson of Colorado Springs, Patty (Chad) Truax of Truman, Matthew Byrne of Fairmont, Kimberly (Kyle) Schultze of Fairmont, and Randall (Kari) Byrne of Truman; 22 grandchildren, 36 great-grandchildren, and 1 great-great grandchild; and many more nieces and nephews.

Patrick is preceded in death by his parents, Cyril and Augusta, and his 11 siblings.
