Mary Agnes Hoscheid

February 26, 1932 — January 4, 2018

Mary Agnes Patricia (Brain) Hoscheid, of Truman.  Mary passed away at St. Mary’s Hospital Rochester, MN on  January 4th 2018 at the age of 85. Visitation will be Sunday evening, January 14, 2018 from 5-7 PM with a rosary at 7 PM at Zaharia Family Funeral & Cremation in Truman. Additional Visitation one hour prior to Mass at the church. Mass of Christian Burial will be Monday, January 15, 2018 at 11 am at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Madelia.  Inurnment will be at a later date at Ridgelawn Memorial Park in rural Truman.  Zaharia Family Funeral & Cremation is entrusted with arrangements. www.ZahariaFamilyFuneral.com Mary was born in Jersey City, NJ, February 26, 1932 to David and Mildred (Donnelly) Brain. She attended catholic school in Jersey City and upon graduation was employed at (NBC) National Broadcasting Corporation as a secretary, in New York City. She worked for NBC for 2 years. Mary met Marvin Hoscheid of Truman in Miami FL, while on vacation with her mother when her mother brought home a Sailor, for her to meet; they dated for two years while Marvin was in the Navy, stationed at Norfolk Virginia. They were married on September 12, 1953. Mary enjoyed being a homemaker and taking care of the family as well as babysitting out of her home for several families in and around Truman, for many years. Mary has been very active in her church as well as a den mother while Mark was in scouting. She also supported Marvin in their business as well as with his involvement with the Knights of Columbus service. Mary and Marvin loved the ocean and owned a home in New Port Richey, FL for ten years where they spent the winter. Mary was very an active member of St. Katherine’s Catholic Church; she was in CCW and the ladies circle, active in the CYO and a teacher of CCD for 16 years. Mary was a den mother for Cub Scouts as well as being interested in sewing, knitting, crafts with the craft of the month club, as well as a member of a card club in Truman. Mary has been living with her daughter since October 2011. Mary will be missed by all her family friends and everyone who knew her. Mary is survived by her daughter, Mona Hoscheid; grandchildren, Angela (Joe) Terry, Christina (Blake) Dahlberg, Brian (Jen) Wymer, Jeremy (Jodi) Hoscheid, Patrick (Jaclyn) Hoscheid; great grandchildren, Grace, Noah and Olivia Terry, Courtney, Mackenzie, Brady, Laney and Henry Dahlberg, Anna and Tanner Ellefson, Ruby, Nolan, and Ivy Wymer, Kayla, Cody and Janelle, Caleb and Ashley Hoscheid, Connor and Bella Hoscheid. Mary was preceded in death her parents, husband Marvin in 2005; son Mark in 2003; brother, David and Half Siblings, Anthony and Margie;  grandchildren, Chad Hoscheid in 1974, Riley Dahlberg in 2006, Shane Terry in 2010, and Suzie Shoemaker in 2014.
