Marjorie B. Vogt, age 89 of Truman, passed away peacefully on February 21, 2022 at Heartland Senior Living in Truman. Funeral services will be held at 10:30am on Monday, February 28 at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Truman. A time for visitation will be held from 9-10:30am, prior to the service at church. Burial will take place at St. Paul’s Lutheran Cemetery.
Marjorie was born in St. James in July 1932 to Walter and Lydia. She was baptized and confirmed at St. John’s Lutheran Church, South Branch. She attended St. John’s Lutheran Elementary School, South Branch, and St. James High School, graduating in 1950. On March 7, 1959, Marge was married to Carl Vogt in St. John’s Lutheran Church, South Branch.
Marge and Carl were active members of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Truman. Marge was active in the Ladies Aide and worked as a secretary in the church for some time. She was very involved in her community and school as well. She was Carl’s partner in life, as well as in business, often working in the office for him. Marge enjoyed gardening, quilting, and crossword puzzles. Most of all, she enjoyed her family. She was a dedicated mother and grandmother. Caring for her family was her biggest joy in life.
Left to cherish her memory is her husband, Carl; children, Suzanne (John) Burman, Stephen (Lauren) Vogt, Timothy (Molly) Vogt, Bradley (Jacqueline) Vogt, and Eric (Pamela) Vogt; 20 grandchildren; and 2 great-grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her parents and her siblings, Luella (Roland) Stradtman, Vernelle (Henry) Kohn, and Marlys (Kent) Kloepping.
Memorial donations are preferred to St. Paul’s Lutheran School.
