Lorraine A. Tonn died Wednesday, October 27th, 2021 at Mapleton Community Home, Mapleton, MN at the age of eighty-seven years. Funeral services will be held at 10am on Friday, November 5, 2021 at St. John’s Lutheran Church, Willow Creek with Rev. John Bennett officiating. A time for visitation will be held one hour prior to the service. Burial will take place at North Willow Creek Cemetery.
Lorraine Anna Tonn was born at home in rural Amboy, MN to Walter and Selma (Krause) Urban on May 19, 1934. She attended parochial school at St. John’s Lutheran School-Willow Creek and Amboy High School. On June 17th, 1956, Lorraine married Martin Tonn at St. John’s Lutheran Church-Willow Creek. They farmed their entire married life in the Willow Creek area. Lorraine was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church-Willow Creek. She sang in the church choir and was a member of the Dorcas Society. She expressed her love for family and friends in her cooking and counted cross stitch Christmas stockings, as well as other handmade pieces.
Lorraine is survived by her two daughters and sons-in-law, Margaret and Ralph Slaker of Maple Lake, MN and Carolyn and Steven Kopacek of Maple Grove, MN, two sons and daughter-in-law Roger and Barbara Tonn of Amboy, MN and Daniel Tonn of Hopkins, MN, seven grandchildren, Sara (Jonathan) Brandon, Megan Slaker (Michael) Bennett, Elizabeth (Paul) Rassier, Rebecca (fiancé, Ryan Koch) Kopacek and Nathan Kopacek, Kevin (Samantha) Tonn, Jared (Angela) Tonn, five great-grandchildren, Cadence, Jameson, Anders and Vera Brandon and Amelia Tonn, three brothers, Gerald (Lois) Urban of Amboy, MN, Richard Urban of Mankato, MN and Lawrence (Susan) Urban of St. Peter, IL, and numerous nieces and nephews. Lorraine was preceded in death by her husband, Martin Tonn, her parents; sister Violet Tonn; one grandson and brother-in-law, Mervin Tonn.
Memorials are preferred to St John’s Lutheran-Willow Creek or Martin Lutheran High School, Northrup, MN.
