Jean was born on February 12, 1937, to Wilbur and Velva (Anderson) Clear in Fairmont MN. She attended many schools and graduated from Mechanical Arts High School in St. Paul. On February 18, 1955, she married Elmer Heine. Jean and Elmer enjoyed farming in rural South Branch - they were proud to become Century Farm owners in 1997. Jean also worked numerous jobs - 3M in Fairmont, Lutheran Retirement Home in Truman, Watonwan County Country Club, Lewisville Café and the Lewisville Liquor Store. When Elmer's health forced them to leave the farm in 1988, they moved to Lewisville. Jean's memberships and involvements included the Lewisville American Legion Auxiliary where she served on the local, district and state boards, the CCSI Board and the Mankato Moose Lodge. Jean spent many summers working in the refreshment stands for ball games at the South Branch school and she enjoyed camping and snowmobiling with family and friends. She also enjoyed her cats – especially Fritz who kept her company this past year.  Her hobbies included sewing, cross-stitch, knitting, crocheting, reading, and watching Hallmark movies. Jean enjoyed cooking and baking for her family - there were always homemade cookies available and a well-stocked treat drawer for her grandchildren. Her greatest joy was spending time with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.

Jean is survived by two sons, Steven Heine (special friend, Lori Anderson) of Sherburn and Tom (Gerri) Heine, of Blaine, Tennessee; one daughter, Cathie (Scott) Lien, of Brooklyn Park; five grandchildren Tyler (Samantha) Heine, Andrea (Eric) Charlier, Dakota Heine, Jenna Heine, and Brandon Lien; four great-grandchildren Hannah and Lillian Charlier, Daysun and Hunter Cheeseman; and many nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends.

Jean was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Elmer, three brothers, Ben, John (Lynn) and Jim Clear, sisters-in-law, Delores (Rodney) Heckman, Roma (Robert) Culbertson, Marcella Heine, Francis (Rheinhold) Christnagel and brothers-in law, Maynard (Grace) Heine and Herbert Rand.
