Eleanor Elizabeth Wolf

Eleanor Wolf of Fairmont, passed away on Monday, December 7, 2020 at the Primrose Retirement Community in Austin, MN, at the age of 100. Funeral Service will be on Friday, December 11, 2020 at 10 AM at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Fairmont with Pastor Wade Daul officiating. Visitation one hour prior. Interment will follow in Lakeside Cemetery.  Due to COVID-19 Pandemic restrictions, social distancing will be enforced and masks are required.  The funeral will be livestreamed on the funeral home website for those wishing to attend remotely. Eleanor Elizabeth Cowing was born September 19, 1920 in Granada Village, Center Creek Township to Frank and Jessie (Snow) Cowing.  She was one of 8 children and she attended Granada Huntley schools.  She married Wilbert F. Wolf on October 28, 1939 at St. Johns UCC in Fairmont, they moved to Nashville Township where they farmed for a short time.  Then, she and Wilbert moved to Fairmont in 1942. Eleanor proudly raised her children and cared for her home. She did various jobs to keep her busy but caring for her family was paramount.   She was a longtime member of Immanuel Lutheran Church.  Eleanor enjoyed crocheting and spending time gardening, tending to her beautiful flowers and tasty produce.  Eleanor’s dog Lucy was a bright light in her life. 

Eleanor lived in her own home until she was 98 years young, moving to Primrose Retirement Community in July 2018 to be closer to her grandson Kane.  She loved getting phone calls from all of her grandchildren and looked forward to visits from Kane. 

Eleanor is survived by her grandchildren, Connie Wolf of Eagle, CO, Holly (Bernard) Feemster of Camden, SC, Jill (Steve) Gibson of Clarksville, TN, Kane (Andrea) Malo of Austin, and Kelsey Wolf of Karlsruhe, Germany; great-grandchildren, Benjamin Wolf, Samantha and McKenzie Feemster and Sadie and Theo Gibson; one great-great-granddaughter, A’lani Rawlinson; son-in-law, Ronald Malo of Fairmont; daughter-in-law Andrea Wolf of Houston, TX and many other relatives and friends. 

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband Wilbert; daughter, Kathaleen Malo; son Chuck Wolf; brothers, John and Doug Cowing; sisters, Thelma Olson, Ruth Scarce, Helen Hardt, Leona Reiter and Barbara Franklin.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be directed to Immanuel Lutheran Church in Eleanor’s name.
