ELDONNA JANE WEINKAUF

Eldonna Weinkauf, age 89, of Mankato, passed away on February 28, 2020 at Oaklawn Rehabilitation Center in Mankato.  Funeral Service will be on Saturday, March 7, 2020 at 1030 AM at St. John’s Lutheran Church Willow Creek with Pastor John Bennett officiating. Eldonna Jane Henslin was born in Madelia on March 10, 1930 to Walter and Frieda (Schlack) Henslin. She was baptized March 30, 1930 and confirmed by L. J. Lemke on May 28, 1944 at Fieldon Lutheran Church rural Lewisville. Eldonna went to Lutheran parochial school at Trinity Lutheran Church, Fieldon.

Eldonna married Waldemar Weinkauf on November 21, 1948 at Fieldon Lutheran Church by Pastor Paul Zitzman. She was a member of St. John’s Willow Creek church for many years. Eldonna enjoyed working with flowers, playing cards, jigsaw puzzles and feeding the birds. She especially loved spending time with her family. She lived on the Weinkauf family farm in Willow Creek for over 50 years of her life.

Eldonna is survived by her two daughters, Darla (Tom) Graf of Amboy, and Gloria Weinkauf  (special friend Bob Dysart) of Sioux Falls, SD; three grandsons, Timothy (Ruby), Andrew (Samantha) and Matthew (Jeana); one sister, Dorothy (Lawrence) Wiederhoeft; 7 great grandchildren, Anna, Nick, Sophia, Sierra, Cale, Nathaniel and Emmett;  many nieces and nephews other relatives and friends.

She is preceded in death by her husband and sister-in-law Erna Schwanke.
