Cheryl Ann Clow

August 28, 1957 — March 13, 2023

Truman

Cheryl Ann Clow, also known as Cheri or Sass, age 65 of Truman, passed away on Monday, March 13, 2023 at Mayo Clinic Health Systems in Mankato. Funeral services will be held at 11AM on Friday, March 17, 2023 at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Truman with Rev. Timothy Chase officiating. A time for visitation will be held from 5-7PM on Thursday at Zaharia Family Funeral Home and one hour prior to the service at church. Burial will take place at St. Paul’s Lutheran Cemetery in Truman.

Cheri was born on August 28, 1957 in Fairmont to Anton “Tony” and Allene (Jones) Clow. Growing up, her uncles held a very special place in her heart. Cheri graduated from Truman High School and later attended Beauty School. Sass worked as a beautician until an allergic reaction to perm solution that ended her career. She then worked in the produce department at Hy-Vee for 15 years. Sass also assisted with confirmation classes at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church.

Cheri was an amazing cook, and was good at hosting company. Many of her favorite memories were hosting company around Grandma’s Table for lunch and coffee. In her younger years, Sass loved to travel. She visited Europe after high school and has seen a large chunk of the United States, but California was her favorite.

Cheri was often known as the town crier. She loved to keep all the residents of Truman up to date on all the latest news… or some would say “gossip”. She was passionate about Truman and was always concerned for the town’s well-being. Cheri was always well known for the way she “tells it like it is”. And she did. So many people respected her for her honest opinions on things. So many people who have reacted to Cheri’s passing have said she was a “one of a kind”.

Cheri’s most cherished role in life was being Grandma. Her favorite thing to tell the grandkids, “Don’t tell your dad.” She loved giving the kids all the things Mom and Dad said no to. Whether it was trips to McDonalds, late night Chinese food orders or just a can of soda, she loved giving them all the treats mom and dad wouldn’t. Cheri and her “Sass” will be missed.

Left to cherish her memory is her son, Jarred (Jessy) Clow of Truman; 4 grandchildren, Alyssa, Ella, Jackson, and Hailey; brothers, Brad (Brenda) Clow of Sioux Falls and Mick (Kari) Clow of Truman; sister-in-law, Faith Clow (Gary Pahl) of Truman; and several more nieces, nephews, family and friends.

Cheri was preceded by her grandparents, Roy and Josephine Clow and Alvin and Loris Jones; her parents, Tony and Allene Clow; brother, Craig Clow; and niece, Angie Clow.
