Carolyn Marie White

March 3, 1952 — October 7, 2020

Carolyn White, 68 of Truman, formerly of Fairmont passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, October 7, 2020 at her home.  Private family services were held and burial of cremated remains will be at a later date in Lakeside Cemetery in Fairmont.  Zaharia Family Funeral Home in Truman is entrusted with arrangements. www.ZahariaFamilyFuneral.com

Carolyn Marie Murphy was born on March 3, 1952 in Worthington, to Patrick and Evelyn (Lehnhoff) Murphy. She was the youngest of two children. She was raised in rural Fulda and graduated from Fulda High School in 1970.  She then furthered her education in Alexandria for a degree in Phlebotomy.  She married Larry White in Fairmont at the United Methodist Church on May 31, 1975.  To this union two daughters were born, Amy and Andrea.  She began her career in the medical field in 1975 with Fairmont Community Hospital and Clinic and found her time helping people in the lab very rewarding.  Carolyn ended her 36 year career as a laboratory technician with Mayo Clinic Health Systems in 2011.

Carolyn had many loves: her husband, girls, granddaughters and chickens.  Lots of them.  She inherited a collection of ceramic chickens from her mother and couldn't help but make the collection grow.  She also spent many days camping and traveling to see her daughter Amy.  When she was home she enjoyed her Sunday tradition of having Andrea and Bill over to try out a new internet recipe for dinner.  Larry and Carolyn were members at the Fairmont Methodist Church and enjoyed friends made there.

Carolyn is survived by her husband of 45 years, Larry of Truman; daughters Amy White (Haruna Momodu) of Wilmington, DE and Andrea (Bill) Willner of Truman; granddaughters, McKayla, Farida and Aaliyah Momodu of Willmington, DE; furry grandchildren, Beans, Si and Bubba Willner; brother, Bernard (Connie) Murphy of Worthington; sister-in-law, Kathy (Don) Swanson of Swea City, IA; 8 cherished nieces and nephews, many other relatives and friends.
