Orlanda Zellmer

Funeral services Orlanda Zellmer, 97, Lewisville, MN will be held at Salem Lutheran Church in Madelia on Tuesday, June 13, 2017 at 10:00 am with Rev. Volbrecht officiating. Interment will follow in the Trinity Lutheran Cemetery-Fieldon Township. Orlanda died on Friday, June 09, 2017 at Mayo Health Systems-Mankato. Visitation will be held for one hour prior to the services in the church. Arrangements are entrusted to Zaharia Family Funeral & Cremation Service of Truman. Orlanda Otillie Knaak was born on the family farm in rural Watonwan County to Oskar and Amelia (Arndt) Knaak. She attended rural schools in Watawon and Blue Earth Counties. Orlanda worked for several families in the Mankato area as a nanny and housekeeper. On April 15, 1945 Orlanda was united in marriage to Wilbert Zeller. Wilbert was shipped overseas for the war and she worked at a munitions plant in Maryland. They returned to Blue Earth County where they farmed. She remained on the farm until her death. Orlanda enjoyed gardening, baking and could still out-fish her kids. Orlanda was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church-Fieldon Township. Orlanda is survived by her daughter, Susan Zellmer of Blue Earth County, MN; one son, Wayne (Kim Davis) Zellmer of Lakeville, MN; 2 grandchildren, Joey and Jesse Davis; 1 great grandchild, Mason Davis; 1 sister, Malinda (Leo) Reinke, Lewisville, MN; 1 brother, Oskar “Bud” (Jane) Knaak, Madelia; numerous nieces and nephews.
