Memorial services for Mark M. Teaser, 97, Chandler, AZ formerly of Truman, MN will be held at 10:00 am on Monday, June 5, 2017 at Zaharia Family Funeral & Cremation Service of Truman. Private family inurnment will full military honors by Oles-Reader-Bosshart American Legion Post 115 will be at Ridgelawn Memorial Park, rural Truman. Mark died on Monday, May 8, 2017 in Chandler, AZ. Visitation will be held on Sunday, June 4, 2017 from 2-4:00 pm at Zaharia Family Funeral & Cremation Service of Truman. Mark Melvin Teaser was born on June 30, 1919 in Pleasant Prairie Township, Martin County, MN to H.R. and Mary (Hines) Teaser. They moved to the family farm in Westford Township when Mark was three years old. Mark attended country school in rural Truman and Truman High School. He served in the US Army in the 169th Infantry, 43rd Division from January 1942 until September 1945, attaining the rank of S/SGT. He was awarded three Bronze Stars while serving in Guadalcanal, New Georgia, New Guinea and the Philippines Theatres. Mark was united in marriage to Charlotte Larkin on November 14, 1945 in Madelia, MN. They moved to the Century Farm in Westford Township and lived there until his retirement in 1980. Mark served his community in various capacities as a 4-H Club leader, rural school board member, FHA Board member, the ASCS and the Selective Service Board. He was a member of the Truman American Legion, Lions Club, and the Knights of Columbus. Since 1981, he has spent his winters in AZ and moved to Chandler, AZ in 2012 to be near family. Mark was an avid golfer and fisherman. He spent many days hiking and playing cards. He truly loved spending time with his family. Left to cherish his memory are his children, Kieran, Chandler, AZ and Steven (Diane), Minneapolis, MN; five grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; brother, James (Karen); sister, Muriel Joseph; sister-in-law, Betty Engelking; brother-in-law, Doyle (Veronica) Larkin. He was preceded in death by his wife, Charlotte; sisters, Mary (Harold) Pytleski and Anna Mae (Phil) Campe.
