Memorial services for Dorothy Schwardt, 82, Fairmont, MN will be held on Saturday, December 31, 2016 at 2:00 pm at Zaharia Family Funeral & Cremation Service of Truman. Inurnment will take place at a later date at St. John’s Lutheran Cemetery-South Branch, rural St. James, MN. Dorothy died at her home in Fairmont on Friday, December 23, 2016. Visitation will be held on Saturday from 12-2:00 pm at Zaharia family Funeral & Cremation Service of Truman. Dorothy was born on December 30, 1933 on the family farm in rural St. James, MN to John and Marie (Quindel) Schwardt. She attended parochial school at St. John’s Lutheran School-South Branch, rural St. James, MN. She enjoyed playing cards with her family and friends. Dorothy is survived by one brother, Bernhardt (Sharon) Schwardt, St. James, MN; three sisters, Irene Kietzer, Lewisville, MN, Henrietta (Jack) Johnson, Fairmont, MN, Bernice (Owen) Rasmussen, Sanborn, MN; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers-in-law, Delbert Kietzer and Royal Hauth.
