A funeral service for Renee Lynn Kettner, 52, of Truman, MN will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, April 29th at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Truman with Rev. Nathan Rusert officiating. Burial will follow at Ridgelawn Cemetery. Renee passed away Monday morning, April 25, 2016 at St. Mary’s Hospital, Rochester, MN due to complications of M.S. Visitation will be at Truman Senior Living in Truman from 8:00 - 9:00 on Friday morning followed by visitation at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church beginning at 9:30 until the time of the service at 11:00. Zaharia Funeral Home of Truman is handling the arrangements for the family.
Renee Lynn Kettner was born on August 10, 1964 to Willard and Madelyn (Zoellmer) Kettner at Fairmont Community Hospital, Fairmont, MN. Renee was baptized on September 6, 1964 by Rev. Hinrichs and confirmed on April 30, 1978 by Rev. Preuss at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church where she was a lifelong member. Renee attended St. Paul’s Lutheran School and Truman High School, graduating in 1982. She worked many years in the Housekeeping Department at the Lutheran Retirement Home in Truman. Following the death of her father in 2012, Renee moved to the Truman Manor. Later that year, she moved to Truman Senior Living where she lived until the time of her death. Renee loved her friends and family. She particularly enjoyed being a Vikings and Twins fan and loved watching them play. She was very happy with her home at TSL and enjoyed being around her friends and staff there. Her quick smile will be remembered by many.
Those cherishing her memory include her three sisters and their families, Priscilla and Dana Horsman of Truman, Cynthia Kettner of Rochester, and Karen and Michael W. Altenburg of St. James; nieces and nephews Melissa (Steve) Vander Veen of Hartley, IA, Jodi Horsman of New London, Kevin Horsman of Kasson, Matthew (Elaine) Lee of Rochester, Erik Lee of Rochester, Allison Lee Mohwinkel of White Bear Lake, Heidi Keske of Crystal, Hillary (Andrew) Slama of Savage, Michael E. (Brittany) Altenburg of Lewisville and great nieces and nephews Emilee and Anna Kate, William, Abigail and Delaney, Marcus, Nixon, Cody, Leeann and Oliver. Renee was preceded in death by her parents.
