Funeral services for Eileen Howell, 95, Truman, MN will be held on Thursday, January 7, 2016 at 11:00 am at Zaharia Family Funeral & Cremation Service of Truman. Interment will be held at Fairview Memorial Park, Fairmont. Eileen died on Monday, January 04, 2016 at Truman Senior Living. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, January 6, 2016 from 5-7:00 pm and one hour prior to the services all at Zaharia Family Funeral & Cremation Service of Truman. Eileen Pegors was born on August 7, 1920 in Winnebago, MN to Frank and Florence (Hardy) Pegors. She attended country school in Nashville Township and later graduated from Truman High School. Eileen attended Beauty School in Mankato. On July 5, 1942 Eileen was united in marriage to Donald Howell at the Nashville Baptist Church, Nashville Township, MN. Following Donald’s honorable discharge from the US Army, they made their home and farmed in Westford Township. After their retirement, they continued to make their home on the farm. After Donald’s death in 1998, Eileen moved into Truman in 1999. She entered the Lutheran Manor in 2013 and into Truman Senior Living in 2014. Eileen was a member of Community Baptist Church until its closing, Prairie Star Quilters, Truman American Legion Auxiliary, Fairmont VFW Auxiliary, the Truman Museum and active in 4-H leadership. Eileen was an avid quilter, sewer and loved flower gardening. Eileen is survived by two daughters and sons-in-law, Cheryl Barickman (Keith), Truman, MN, Karen Kubes (Bernie), St. Michael, MN; 5 grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren; 5 great, great grandchildren; one brother, Jack Parry, St. Paul, MN and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; one sister; two sisters-in-law and two brothers-in-law.
