Funeral services for Doris E. Else, 97, rural Lewisville, MN will be held on Wednesday, April 22, 2015 at 10:30 am at St. John’s Lutheran Church, rural Vernon Center, MN with Rev. John Bennett officiating. Interment will be held at St. John’s Lutheran Cemetery-South Willow Creek, rural Amboy, MN. Doris died on Friday, April 17, 2015. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, April 21, 2015 from 5-7:00 pm at Zaharia Family Funeral & Cremation Service of Truman and one hour before the services in the church. Doris Emma Rosetta Sulflow was born on June 14, 1917 at home in rural Amboy, MN to Gustav and Emma (Kietzer) Sulflow. She was baptized and confirmed at St. John’s Lutheran Church-Willow Creek. Doris attended St. John’s Lutheran Parochial School-Willow Creek and then two years of country school. On October 13, 1940 Doris was united in marriage to Edward Else at St. John’s Lutheran Church-Willow Creek. They lived on the farm in rural Lewisville after marriage. From 1944-1945 they lived in rural Waseca, MN. Doris and Edward returned to rural Lewisville, MN where they remained their entire lives. Doris was a lifetime member of St. John’s Lutheran Church-Willow Creek and the Dorcas Society from 1954-present. She was a member of the Lewisville American Legion Auxiliary Unit 561 for 32 years and was President for 1 year. For over 50 years, she was in the bowling league and attended the state tournament 12 times and was a member of the 500 marathon club for 50 years. She was in the Lewisville Beauty Pageant at age 22. Doris enjoyed gardening, sewing and traveling. She loved to have her grandchildren come and stay for a couple of days and especially playing Gin with them. Doris is survived by one son, Wendell Else, Amboy; one daughter, Susan Stedtfeld, Amboy; five grandchildren, Krysta Osborn, Kimberly (Wade) Roeker, Alexandra (Craig) Crutchfield, Kyle Else, Karyn Else; four great grandchildren, Josh Else, Ryan Roeker, Allyssa Roeker and Chance Crutchfield; two sisters, Sylvia Urban, Lewisville, Lillian Maus, North Mankato. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Edward; grandson, Kory Else; infant sister, Loretta and sister Florence; brothers, Friebert, Clarence, Wilton and Lorenz. www.zahariafamilyfuneral.com
