Funeral services for LuVerna I. Kopischke, 85, Huntley, MN will be held on Thursday, March 19, 2015 at 10:30 am at St. James Lutheran Church, Northrop, MN with Rev. Robert C. Trueblood officiating. Interment will take place at the church cemetery. LuVerna died on Monday, March 16, 2015 at Mayo Health Systems-Fairmont. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, March 18, 2015 from 5-7:00 pm at Zaharia Family Funeral & Cremation Service of Truman and one hour before the services in the church.
LuVerna Ida Wiederhoeft was born to Emil and Paulina (Wojohn) Wiederhoeft on January 19, 1930 in South Branch Township, Watonwan County, MN. She was baptized and confirmed at St. John’s Lutheran Church, South Branch, rural St. James, MN. LuVerna attended St. John’s Lutheran School, South Branch. On July 18, 1954 LuVerna was united in marriage to Elmer Kopischke at St. John’s Lutheran Church, South Branch. They lived in the Huntley area their entire married life. She was a member of St. James Lutheran Church, Northrop. LuVerna was a licensed daycare provider and enjoyed her time with the children. Elmer died on May 6, 1984.
LuVerna is survived by two daughters, Linda Kopischke, Blue Earth, MN, Sandra (Troy) Larsen, Truman, MN; one son, Arden (MarJean) Kopischke, Little Rock, IA; 5 grandchildren; 3 great grandchildren; one sister, Myrna (Gary) Thomas; numerous brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Elmer; six sisters, Ardella Ronnei, Lorraine Tate, Beverly Borchert, Milly Farris, Elaine Glinke one sister in infancy; three brothers, Harold, Delvin and Delbert.
