Lester Breitbarth

March 4, 1933 — November 23, 2014

Lester Breitbarth was born March 4, 1933 in Antrim Township, MN to Louis and Gertrude (Nessler) Breitbarth. He attended St. Paul's Lutheran school and Truman Public schools. On November 14, 1953 he married Sherry Beck at St. Paul's Church in Truman. Lester farmed with his dad and took over the farming operation when his father passed away in 1956. When he wasn't farming he did other jobs; he worked for Henry Hudson Painting and for Huemoeller Hardware. In 1968 he started working full time for Olson Furniture. He left the farm and built a home in Truman and continued working at Olson's until it was sold. Lester belonged to the Truman Fire Dept. for 16 years and served as Fire Chief for three years. He enjoyed being a fireman. He loved fishing, playing cards and golfing with his friends. He was always a "mister-fix-it? for his family and grandchildren. He loved gardening, canning, cooking and shopping. Lester died Sunday, November 23, 2014 at Truman Senior Living. Left to cherish his memory are his wife of 61 years, Sherry, daughter, Vickie (Dennis) Lewis of Lewisville, son, Bradley (Michelle) Breitbarth of Truman, son, Bruce (Beverly) Breitbarth of Jackson, son, Brian (Patty) Breitbarth of Blaine, grandchildren: Marnie Walser, April (Steve) Feely, Justin (Ann) Breitbarth, Jordan (Maggi) Breitbarth, Robert (Adina) Welder, Brandon & Christopher Breitbarth, & Ella Breitbarth, Jordan Collins, Great grandchildren: Rylee, Macee, Ashton, Payton, Laela, Atreyeu, Jace, Hunter, Makaden, & Lillie, Annica, Dakota, sister, Leanna Niss, sister-in-law, Beverly (Milton) Thompson, special friends Raquel Aanas, Rochelle Eicher and many nieces & nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, sister, Adeline Erickson, brother-in-law, Donald Niss, mother & father-in-law, Raymond & Winifred, Niebuhr.
