Harold Edward Niss

Harold Edward Niss was born on March 19, 1927 in Fairmont, MN to Lewis and Minnie (Peglau) Niss. He attended Fraser Country School and Fairmont High School. Harold worked on the farm for his father. On February 19, 1950 Harold was united in marriage to Irene Weihe at Zion Lutheran Church-Fraser Township. After their marriage, they lived on the family farm in Fraser Township until 1965. They moved to Estherville, IA where Harold worked as a feed salesman for Golden Sun. He retired in 1992. They later moved Goldfinch Estates, Fairmont. Irene died in 2007. Harold entered the Lutz Wing on June 15, 2013. He was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church in Fairmont. Harold loved to fish and fly his airplanes. He owned 3 airplanes over his lifetime. Harold died on Monday, March 17, 2014 at the Lutz Wing-Mayo Health Systems. Harold is survived by two sisters-in-law, Bernice Bea Niss, Fairmont, Peggy (Joel) Weihe, Fairmont; two brothers-in-law, Henry Weihe, Truman, Charlie Weihe, Eagan, MN; numerous nieces and nephews.
