Lila Mae Koeritz

October 18, 1926 — February 15, 2014

Lila Mae Becker was born on Oct. 18, 1926 in Northrop, MN to August and Augusta (Lueth) Becker. She was baptized on Nov. 7, 1926 by Rev. C. C. Metz and confirmed on March 17, 1940 by Rev. Elmer Koberg. Lila attended St. James Lutheran School and graduated from Fairmont High School in 1944. On Oct. 9, 1949 Lila was united in marriage to Vinton "Butch? Koeritz at St. James Lutheran Church in Northrop. Lila worked at Northrop Peoples State Bank, Becker Grain and Lumber and L. H. Grain all in Northrop, retiring in 1989. Lila was a lifelong member of St. James Lutheran Church in Northrop and was a member of the church's Ladies Aid. She was a member of the Northrop American Legion Post 522 Auxiliary and the Martin County VFW Post 1222 Auxiliary in Fairmont for many years. Lila enjoyed baking and spending time with her grandchildren. Lila died on Saturday, Feb. 15, 2014 at Lutz Wing-Mayo Health Systems, Fairmont. Lila is survived by one son, Tom Koeritz and wife Heidi of Northrop; one son-in-law, Warren Schultze and wife Carole of Northrop; five grandchildren, Stacie (Todd) Boynton, Greenfield, MA, Jennifer Schultze, San Mateo, CA, Nicholas Schultze, Estherville, IA, Hayley Koeritz, Luverne, MN, Mason Koeritz, Northrop, MN; one brother, Erhardt Becker, Fort Meyers, FL; one sister-in-law, Mary Ann Harder, Fairmont, MN and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Vinton; one daughter, Linda Schultze; sisters, Elna Kasten, Dayla Becker, Lorna Kosbab, Arlene Schaefer; brothers, Edwin Becker and Clarence Becker. Memorial contributions may be given to St. James Lutheran School or Martin Luther High School, both in Northrop.
