Edwin Petersen

Edwin was born December 6, 1930 in Nashville Township, MN the son of Edwin F. and Leona M. (Hartwig) Petersen. He was married to Violet R. Nelson on January 28, 1950. Raising a family of five sons, he worked for several surrounding areas farming the land. Edwin took great dedication to his horses going trail riding, while other life passions included collecting guns and toy tractors. On January 10, 1978, he married Loretta Mathwig. Both set on an adventure to live in Arizona where Edwin worked as a grounds keeper. In the next year, they returned to live in Estherville, Iowa where he worked at Estherville Paint and Glass. Following, they moved to Sedalia, Missouri for the next six years. Edwin then was employed at Waterloo Industries in 1985 where he would return to the family farm in Truman. Edwin died Tuesday, January 21, 2014 at Lake View Health Services Care Center in Fairmont. He is survived by his sons: Doug (Brenda) Petersen of Dunnell, MN, Darrell Petersen of Fairmont, Daniel Petersen of Atkinson, Illinois, Tim (Roxy) Petersen of Hanover, MN, a sister, Marvel Meyer of Truman, 12 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, son, Michael Petersen, grandson, Justin Petersen, and brother, Roger Petersen.
