Christine Elizabeth Steffen

Christine Elizabeth Frerichs was born on February 2, 1934 in Superior, IA to Fredrick and Elsie (Andresson) Frerichs. She lived with numerous aunts and uncles after her mother died. Christine attended school in Truman and later moved to Estherville, IA where she was a cook. On November 10, 1957 Christine was united in marriage to Lloyd Steffen in Estherville. They lived in Lakefield, MN where she remained until her death. Christine was a cook for the Good Samaritan Home in Jackson, Immanuel Lutheran School and Colonial Manor, both in Lakefield. She moved into Colonial Manor in January, 2011. Christine was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church in Lakefield. She was also a member of the local Coffee Club. Christine enjoyed coffee, cooking and baking. Christine died on Friday, December 13, 2013 at the Colonial Manor Nursing Home in Lakefield. Christine is survived by her husband of 56 years, Lloyd Steffen, Lakefield, MN; two daughters, Julie Kazemba (Todd), Gainesville, FL, Lynn Davis (Tim), Fairmont, MN; two sons, Martin Steffen (Barbara), Melrose, FL, Lyle Steffen (Debra), Williston, FL; one daughter-in-law, Coleen Enright, West Bend, WI; 12 grandchildren; 5 great grandchildren; two brothers, Edwin Frerichs (Betsy), Laurens, IA, Marvin Frerichs (Ann), Eaton, CO. She was preceded in death by her parents; one son, Roger Steffen; one brother, Allen and one grandson, Lance Steffen.
