Mabel Ellen Hawk

Mabel Ellen Samuelson was born on October 13, 1912 in Mapleton Township, rural Blue Earth County, MN to Charles and Myrtle (Greeley) Samuelson. She attended several schools and graduated from Mapleton High School. Mabel was united in marriage to Vern Hawk. She worked at the Finnegan's Grocery store in Mapleton. Mabel later worked at the Chat and Chew in Truman as a cook. Mabel enjoyed gardening flowers and vegetables. She also loved word search. Mabel was a member of her beloved Truman Church of Christ. Mabel died on Friday, November 29, 2013 at Truman Senior Living. Mabel is survived by her daughter, Neva Sickler, Mapleton, MN; one step daughter, Kathy Gillman, Del Norte, CO; numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren and great, great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Vern; one daughter, Nina Jans and one step daughter, Carmen Hedin.
