MelRoy Melvin Cole

MelRoy Melvin Cole was born June 13, 1938 to George and Amelia (Kruger) Cole in Estherville, IA. He was raised and educated in Truman, MN and graduated from Truman High School in 1956. He was united in marriage to Amanda Gieseke on July 13, 1957. They had five children, and farmed outside of Truman. He was widowed in 1970, when Mandy was killed in an accident. Mel married Barb Kehr in 1972 and had a son. They later divorced. MelRoy loved hunting and fishing with family and friends, as well as following local sports. MelRoy passed away January 3, 2013 at Good Samaritan Home in St. James, MN. MelRoy is survived by his children: Kenneth (Diane) Cole of Bailey, CO, Karen (Jon) Helvig of Truman, MN, Lanee (Joe) VanSant of Colorado Springs, CO, Kurt (Elene) Cole of RAF Lakenheath, England, Kerry (Sarah) Cole of Yelm, WA, Kyle Cole of Mankato, MN, Kelly Cole of St. James, MN, son-in-law Ralph Stangler of Watertown, WI, 17 grandchildren, and 6 great-grandchildren, brother Donald (Norma) Cole of Brownton, MN, sister Carol Green (Mert) of Courtland, MN and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife Amanda, twin brother LeeRoy and daughter Lynn Stangler. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to Good Samaritan Society, St. James MN or St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Truman MN
