Duane Robert Kasten

Duane Robert Kasten was born on June 6, 1941 to Edward and Elna (Becker) Kasten in Truman. He was baptized on June 29, 1941 and confirmed on April 13, 1955, both at St. James Lutheran Church in Northrop, MN. Duane attended country school, St. James Parochial School and Truman High School. Duane entered the US Army in March of 1963. On November 27, 1965 Duane was united in marriage to RoseMary Bosshart at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Truman. Duane and RoseMary were blessed with three children. Duane was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Truman and Oles-Readers-Bosshart American Legion Post 115. Duane farmed in Waverly Township until 1985. In 1971, Duane began working for Bossharts and worked there until his death. Duane worked part-time for Dennis and James Rode at Fieldstone. Duane enjoyed woodworking, tractor restoration and was the neighborhood handyman. Duane looked forward to his annual trips to Black Duck, MN. He loved to spend time with his family. Duane died on Saturday, December 15, 2012 in Truman. Duane is survived by his wife of 47 years, RoseMary Kasten of Truman; one daughter, Brenda and Hans Rowe of Waconia, MN, one son, Kyle and Ellen Kasten of Yorktown, VA; four grandchildren, Allison Rowe, Trevor Rowe, Elizabeth Kasten, Caroline Kasten; one sister, Janyce Boettcher of Sioux Falls, SD; his mother-in-law, Marie Bosshart, Truman; two sisters-in-law and four brothers-in-law. He was preceded in death by his parents; grandparents; father-in-law, Gene Bosshart; his daughter, Patricia; brother-in-law, Eldean Boettcher; Aunts, Uncles and Cousins. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Truman or to the charity of your choice.
