Leo Arvis Wiederhoeft

June 26, 1929 — November 22, 2012

Leo Arvis Wiederhoeft was born on June 26, 1929 in Pleasant Mound Township, Blue Earth County, MN to Willhelm and Frieda (Schwartz) Wiederhoeft. He attended school at Amboy and graduated from Concordia High School in St. Paul, MN. Leo served in the US Navy during the Korean Conflict. On March 7, 1951 Leo was united in marriage to Enid Smith at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Amboy. They lived in Windom, MN for several years until moving to Rosemount, MN. In 1971 they moved to Lewisville where Leo and Enid ran Leo's Our Own Hardware. Leo worked for Gappa Electric in Madelia, MN. He also worked for a few years at Tony Downs until retirement. Leo was a member of Zion Lutheran Church, the Lewisville Legion Post 561 and the Lewisville Fire Department. He was also a charter member of the Rosemount VFW. Leo enjoyed western books and fishing. He and Enid enjoyed travelling and took many trips to Arkansas. They spent a lot of time sitting outside and watching people go by. Leo died on November 22, 2012 at Angels Care Center, Cannon Falls, MN. Leo is survived by three daughters, Iris and Michael Bergerson of Rosemount, MN, Eileen and Bill Proctor of Alpine, CA, Wanda and Sean Winker of Seattle, WA; two sons, Wesley and Annette Wiederhoeft of Dierks, AR, Wayne and Susan Wiederhoeft of Savage, MN; 14 grandchildren; 5 great grandchildren; one sister, Lucy Apitz (Darrel) of New Ulm, MN; two brothers, Kermit Wiederhoeft (Dolores) of Amboy, MN and Orin Wiederhoeft (Dorothy) of Amboy. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Enid; 3 sisters and four brothers. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are preferred to Zion Lutheran Church in Lewisville.
