Marvin Fredrick William Voelker

April 28, 1915 — March 17, 2011

Marvin Fredrick William Voelker was born April 28, 1915 in Nashville Township, Martin County, MN to Herman and Lena (Saxen) Voelker. He was baptized and confirmed at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Truman. Marvin attended school at Dist. 19, Nashville Township and St. Paul's Lutheran Parochial School. He lived in Nashville Township until 1935 when they moved to a farm near Truman. On February 19, 1939, Marvin was united in marriage to Eleanor Hendricksen at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Truman. After their marriage, they moved on the Brownlee farm. Marvin moved into the Lutheran Manor in 2009. In 2011 he moved into Truman Senior Living. He retired from farming in the late 1980's. Marvin was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Truman, where he held various offices including, Deacon, Building Committee, Finance Committee and Usher. Marvin enjoyed farming and working with animals. He also loved to travel to Arizona, play cards and especially spending time with family and friends. Marvin was very strong in his faith and cherished his bible. Marvin died on Saturday, March 17, 2012 at Truman Senior Living. Marvin is survived by one brother, Harold and Lucille Voelker, Madelia, MN; three sisters-in-law; one brother-in-law; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins; the Wayne Maloney Family and especially Lindsey. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Eleanor in 2002; one sister, Lillian; and numerous brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law.
