Enid Eileen Wiederhoeft

March 23, 1930 — June 6, 2011

Enid Eileen Smith was born on March 23, 1930 in Butterfield, MN to Chester and Everil (Barklow) Smith. She attended and graduated from Butterfield High School. She attended one year of business school in Mankato. On March 7, 1951 Enid was united in marriage to Leo Wiederhoeft at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Amboy, MN. Enid lived in Fairmont while Leo was in the US Navy. After Leo's service to his country, they lived in Windom for a couple of years before moving to Rosemount, MN. In 1971, Enid and Leo moved to Lewisville. She managed a hardware store in Lewisville and later worked at Tony Downs in Madelia until retirement. She was a member of Zion Lutheran Church in Lewisville where she was on the altar guild which she chaired for many years. She was also a member of the Legion Auxiliary. They did a lot of traveling during their retirement years. Enid enjoyed knitting, quilting, crocheting and helping with hospice care. She loved spending time with her family and especially with her grandchildren. Enid and Leo spent a lot of time sitting outside watching the people go by. Enid died on June 6, 2011 at Country Neighbors, Mapleton, MN. Enid is survived by her husband of 60 years, Leo Wiederhoeft of Lewisville, MN; three daughters, Iris and Michael Bergerson of Rosemount, MN, Eileen and Bill Proctor of Alpine, CA, Wanda and Sean Winker of Seattle, WA; two sons, Wesley and Annette Wiederhoeft of Dierks, AR, Wayne and Susan Wiederhoeft of Savage, MN; 14 grandchildren; 4 great grandchildren; one sister, Marion Curry of St. James, MN; one brother, Eddie and Delores Smith of Truman. Enid was preceded in death by her parents; one sister, Betty Ehlert. Memorial contributions may be given to the Zion Lutheran Church, Chair Lift Fund.
