Erna Anna Arndt

Erna Anna Wilde was born on May 16, 1917 in Pleasant Mound Township, Blue Earth County, MN to Louis and Minna (Zempel) Wilde. She was baptized on June 13, 1917 and confirmed March 29, 1931, all at St. John's Lutheran Church-Willow Creek. Erna attended parochial school, District 2, St. John's Lutheran-Willow Creek and Public School District 83. On December 4, 1939 Erna was united in marriage to Paul Henry Arndt at the Evangelical Lutheran Parsonage in Estherville, Iowa by Pastor Otis Lang. After marriage, they farmed in the Willow Creek area and purchased their home in 1945 near Amboy in Pleasant Mound Township. Erna was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church-Willow Creek for her entire life. Erna and Paul enjoyed farming the land together and after retirement spent much time at Lake Ida in Alexandria, MN until her husband died in 1989. Erna died on Sunday, November 21, 2010 at Immanuel St. Joseph Hospital, Mankato, MN. Erna is survived by her niece, LeAnn Sager (Arlo) of Fairmont, MN; one sister-in-law, Verona Wilde, Truman, MN; grand nephew, James Pahl (Peggy); and numerous great nieces and great nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Paul; sister, Leona Black and brother-in-law, Walter Black; and one brother, Lorvin Wilde.
