Elsie Karine Schultz

Elsie Karine Gasman was born on May 22, 1912 in rural Watonwan County, MN to Otto and Hansine (Froslan) Gasman. She attended country school at District 81 in rural Martin County, MN. On February 19, 1930 Elsie was united in marriage to Walter "Pete? Miller. They farmed in Watonwan County. Walter died on March 31, 1976. On January 5, 1979 Elsie was united in marriage to Bernhardt Schultz. They made their home in Truman. Bernhardt died on May 7, 1997. In 2000 she moved into the Lutheran Retirement Home. Elsie was a lifelong member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Truman. She was a member of Esther Circle at church and volunteered at the Lutheran Retirement Home. Elsie enjoyed visiting, talking on the phone, word find puzzles and reading. Family get togethers were very important to her and she loved having everyone together at Christmas Eve. Elsie died on Wednesday, June 9, 2010 at the Fairmont Medical Center. Elsie is survived by five children, Harold Miller and wife Velma, Truman, Marvin Miller and wife Joanne, Albert Lea, MN, Evelyn Voss and husband, Charles, Lewisville, MN, Irene Deling and husband Orville, Fairmont, Randy Miller and wife Pamela, Truman; 18 grandchildren; numerous great grandchildren and great, great grandchildren; 13 stepchildren and numerous other family members on Bernhardt's side of the family. Elsie was preceded in death by her parents; husbands, Water Miller and Bernhardt Schultz; one infant daughter, Laurel Kay Miller; two great grandchildren, Amber Barchenger and Roger Deeds and 2 brothers, Harry and Elmer Barge.
