Darrell Lee Urban

Darrell Lee Urban was born on October 13, 1952 in Madelia, MN to Reinhard and Jean (Anderson) Urban. He was baptized and confirmed at St. John's Lutheran Church-Antrim. Darrell attended country school in Antrim Township through the eighth grade and graduated from Truman High School in 1970. In 1971 Darrell was in the US Navy stationed on the USS Alamo. After two tours of duty in Vietnam, Darrell was honorably discharged in 1975. After his discharge, he was married to Cindy Bau. They purchased and acreage. They later divorced. He raised hogs and worked at Truman Farmers Elevator as a carpenter. He then started Urban Construction as an independent contractor. On August 29, 1987 Darrell was united in marriage to Connie (Wolf) Becker at Schell Gardens in New Ulm, MN. Darrell was currently working at Hancor in Fairmont. He was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church in Fairmont. Darrell enjoyed hunting, fishing, boating, horseback riding, wood working and various remodeling projects. In 2003 he established the CREP acres around his acreage. Darrell was always at his children's sporting events to give support. He loved spending time with his family. Darrell died on Saturday, May 1, 2010 at the Fairmont Medical Center. Darrell is survived by his wife, Connie of Truman; a daughter, Melissa Paradis (Jeff) of Mountain Home, ID, daughter, Laura Urban of Orlando, FL, a son, Jerrick Urban (girlfriend, Jess Simmering) of Truman, son Ethan Urban of Truman and daughter, Cassie Urban of Truman; one granddaughter, Alexis Urban, Orlando, FL; mother, Jean Urban, Truman; two sisters, Linda Krueger (Bill), Pekin, Ill, Maggi Anderson (Wes), Welcome, MN; three brothers, Wayne Urban (Glenni), Truman, MN, Jerry Urban (Kathy), Truman, MN, Rodney Urban (Brenda), Amboy, MN and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, Reinhard. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to the Truman Fire and EMS Building Fund.
