Raymond Wilmar Armbrust

Funeral services for Raymond W. Armbrust, 88, Truman, MN will be held Raymond Wilmar Armbrust was born on the family farm southwest of Truman, MN on January 16, 1921, the son of William and Lydia (Milbrandt) Armbrust. He attended School Dist. #54 for 8 years. He worked at home on the family farm and also for many other farmers. Ray entered the US Army in 1942 and was honorably discharged in 1946. He met and married Lucille Johnson on February 20, 1950. They farmed south of Truman for 32 years and he retired in 1982. Lucille died in 1990. Ray was a member of Horicon Church of Christ. Ray loved farming, fishing and watching baseball. Ray died on Sunday, November 1, 2009 at the Sanford Hospital-Jackson. Ray is survived by one daughter, Marlys Fischer and her husband Randy of Truman; one son, Jack Armbrust and his wife Dianne of Trimont; six grandchildren; thirteen great grandchildren; four brothers, Harvey Armbrust of Trimont, Robert Armbrust and his wife Hazel of Fairmont, Albert Armbrust and his wife Muriel of Truman, William Armbrust and his wife Audrey of Shakopee, MN; one sister, Fern Bulfer of Fairmont; two sisters-in-law, Myrtle Armbrust of Alpha and Mary Armbrust of Fairmont and numerous nieces and nephews. Ray was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Lucille; two infant daughters, Joanne Kay and Mary Lou; one grandson, Joshua Armbrust; his step mother, Josephine Armbrust; four brothers, Gordon, Wallace, Donald and Wallace; three sisters, Wilma Aakre, Ruby Lewis and Faye Cutler. Memorial contributions may be given to KJLY Radio in Blue Earth.
