Lillian Anne Kettner

Lillian Anne Eckmann was born on July 15, 1918 in Westford Township, Martin County, MN to Albert and Anna (Bartling) Eckmann. Lillian was baptized Nov. 9, 1919 and was confirmed on March 24, 1931. She attended country school in Westford Township. On September 24, 1939, Lillian was united in marriage to Eldor Kettner at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Truman. They farmed in Waverly Township for 32 years before moving to Truman in 1971. She worked at the Tip Top Café and the Chat and Chew in Truman. In 1986 she began working for the Lutheran Retirement Home until 2006. Lillian was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Truman. She was a charter member of Dorcas Circle and of the Lutheran Retirement Home Auxiliary and was a choir member at St. Paul's Lutheran Church for over 50 years. She loved to spend time with her family and friends. Lillian died on Sunday, May 10, 2009 at the Fairmont Medical Center. Lillian is survived by her son, Neil Kettner and his wife Sandy of Lewisville, MN; two grandsons, Tyler Kettner and friend, Kelsey Borntrager of Trimont, MN and Levi Kettner of Lewisville and friend Amber Faber; three great grandchildren, Talen, Brycen and Hailey Kettner; five brothers, Clarence Eckmann and wife Patti of Island Lake, IL, Donald Eckmann of Wauconda, IL, Bill Eckmann and wife Orra of Fairmont, Ervin Eckmann and wife Denise of Minneapolis, MN, Melvin Eckmann of Fairmont; four sisters, Alberta Haskin of Fairmont, Marie Wenzel and husband Ben of Fairmont, Mabel Wiese of Truman, Janet Diekmann of Fairmont; a special niece Delores Wolle and her husband Gordon of St. James, MN; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; one sister, Matilda Eckmann; four brothers, Floyd, Martin, Roy and Richard.
