Daniel R. Schrader

Daniel Robert Schrader was born on June 21, 1955 in Oelwein, IA to Robert and Janice (Bark) Schrader. He attended schools in Grundy Center, IA, Hinckley, IL and Fairmont, MN. He also attended SCTC in Mankato, MN. He married Connie Hartmann in 1975. They later divorced. Daniel was a diabetic from the time he was three years old. In April of 1985, Daniel received a kidney from his mother, Janice. On May 12, 1989 he married Leann Boutwell in Fairmont, MN. He received a kidney from Leann on December 31, 2003. On March 26, 2004 he received a pancreas. Daniel worked as a refrigeration engineer at Pennant Foods in Madelia. He enjoyed his dogs, his Camaro and the races where he worked on a pit crew. He was a volunteer at the Humane Society in Fairmont. Daniel died on Monday, January 26, 2009 at the Fairmont Medical Center. Daniel is survived by his wife, Leann of Truman; his parents, Robert and Janice Schrader of Northrop; two brothers, David Schrader and his wife Sue of Jackson, MN, Dennis Schrader and his wife Jodie of Northrop; one sister, Deb Schrader and her fiancé Greg Koenig of Golden Valley, MN; his mother-in-law, Ada Boutwell of Madelia, MN; three brothers-in-law, Glenn Boutwell of Marshall, MN, Dale Boutwell of Del Rio, TX, Neal Boutwell of Madelia; and sister-in-law, Barb Henry of Colorado Springs, CO; neice and nephew Spencer and Sierra Schrader and numerous other nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his grandparents; his father-in-law, James Boutwell; and numerous aunts and uncles. Memorial contributions may be given to Hospice of Martin County or the Humane Society of Martin County.
