Faye Lavina Jones was born on January 28, 1913 in Geneva, IA to Melvin and Sarah (Monroe) Jones. She attended Geneva Consolidated School and graduated in 1933. Faye married Harland Otis Talledge at Marshalltown, IA on March 9, 1935. They worked for several farmers as hired hands and in the fall of 1949 they moved to the family farm near Ceylon to take care of Harland's father Harry, who was in ill health. In 1954 they moved to a farm near Truman until 1968 when they retired and moved into Truman. Harland and Faye were janitors at the Truman Bank for many years and Faye also did childcare in her home. For several years, Faye was a teacher's aid for the kindergarten class at St. Paul's Lutheran School in Truman. Faye and Harland were avid bike riders and always kept the streets clean of litter and especially pop cans. Mrs. Talledge died on Thursday, September 25, 2008 at the Fairmont Medical Center-Mayo Health Systems, Fairmont.
Faye is survived by two sons, Marvin and wife Lola of Fairmont, Robert and wife Jean of Cottage Grove, MN; ten grandchildren, Dean Clemons, Linda (Dexter) Bingham, Kim (Tim) Winsor, Brenda (Noe) Lopez, Sharon (Patrick) Hallahan, Keith (Becky) Talledge, Cindy (Ken) Seebeck, Karl Talledge, Mark (Tara) Talledge, Mary Talledge; seventeen great grandchildren; one great, great grandchild; two sisters, Geraldine Thiede of North Mankato, MN, Edith Bateman of Mankato; one sister-in-law, Selma Talledge of Watertown, WI; and son-in-law, Lloyd Clemons and wife Joyce of Shakopee, MN. Faye was preceded in death by her husband, Harland in August of 1991; her daughter, Marjorie in July of 1999; four infant brothers; sister and brother-in-law, Ted and Melverna Roehrs; brother and sister-in-law, George and Dorothy Jones; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Henry Thiede, Don Bateman, Bill and Peggy Talledge, Dorothy Taledge, Everett Talledge, Victor and Virgie Hempstead and Elmer and Vivian Lidke and several other relatives.
