Clarence William Edward Fink

April 17, 1919 — July 30, 2008

Clarence William Edward Fink was born on April 17, 1919 to Ernest and Louise (Lupke) Fink in Waverly Township, rural Truman, MN. He attended school at Dist. 81 where he later served as school board chairman from 1947-1952. He was confirmed at St. John's-United Church of Christ in Fairmont where he was a lifetime member. On August 29, 1940 Clarence was united in marriage to Nelda Luhmann at St. Peter Lutheran Church in Ceylon, MN. They farmed on the family farm all their married life until moving to Fairmont in September of 1999. After retirement he enjoyed his hobby of collecting, harnessing and making wagons for his many horses. Clarence also did craft items with his family. Clarence died on Wednesday, July 30, 2008 at the Fairmont Medical Center. Clarence is survived by one daughter, Karon (Dennis) Johnson of Fairmont; one son, Darvin Fink of Houston, TX; seven grandchildren, Scott Pyrd, Minneapolis, MN, Dean Fink, Lisa (Aaron) Balsingin, both of Houston, TX, Teresa (Paul) Vachuska, Jackson, MN, Tammy (Larry) Halverson, Fairmon, MN, Trent (Brenda) Johnson, Blue Earth, MN, Tracy (Rickey) LaBarge, Virginia, MN; sixteen great grandchildren; three great, great grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends. Clarence was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Nelda; sister and brother-in-law, John and Alice Mason; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Frank and Nadine Palmer, Walter and Bertha Lehmann, Willard and Helen Lehmann and Robert Lehmann. Memorial contributions may be given to the donor's choice.
