Dorothy A. Meyer

Dorothy Ann Bushman was born on June 28, 1937 in Mt. Lake, MN to Lee Roy and Eleanor Morey Scearcy Bushman. She was baptized on January 18, 1938 at First Lutheran Church in Butterfield, MN and was confirmed on March 25, 1951 at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Truman. Dorothy attended school in Truman. On April 3, 1966 Dorothy married Martin Walter Meyer at American Lutheran Church in Sioux Falls, SD. In 1967 they moved to Belvidere, Illinois where she worked for family restaurants, Sam's Cleaners and owned and operated restaurants and pizza businesses for 23 years. In 1990, they returned to Truman where Dorothy went into home rentals and was a landlord. Dorothy was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Truman. Dorothy enjoyed sewing, lawn care and especially spending time with her grandchildren and family. Mrs. Meyer died on Monday, February 4, 2008 at the Fairmont Medical Center. Dorothy is survived by her husband of 41 years, Martin Meyer, Truman, MN; two daughters, June Logan, Truman, Phyllis (Charles) Knight, Belvidere, IL; one son, Tony (Cindy) Kelly, Poplar Grove, IL; eight grandchildren; six great grandchildren; one brother, Richard (Dorothy) Bushman, Fairmont, MN and two nieces. Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents and one son, Michael James Kelly. Memorial contributions may be given to the American Cancer Society.
