Vera LaVonne Krueger was born on July 24, 1924 in Franklin, MN to John and Ella (Wetenkamp) Krueger. She attended school in Welcome, MN. Vera worked for Minnesota Mining in Fairmont for a couple of years. On August 17, 1951, Vera married Charles Raforth in Sioux Falls, SD. They made their home in Fairmont. Vera worked numerous different jobs including Mallon Egg and Minnesota Mining. Vera retired in the early 1970's. Vera was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church where she did volunteer work. She was a member of the Martin County VFW Auxiliary Post 1222. Vera loved to spend time with her grandchildren. She enjoyed going to the car races and watching Nascar and sports on TV. Vera will be greatly missed by her family and friends. Mrs. Raforth died on Monday evening, Sept. 10, 2007 at her home in Fairmont.
Vera is survived by her husband of 56 years, Charles Raforth, Fairmont, MN; two daughters, Pat Davis, Fairmont, Barbara Lutz and her husband Jim, Fairmont; one son Richard Raforth and his wife Diane, Mankato, MN; five grandchildren; six great grandchildren; one sister, Velma Charnecki and her husband Lawrence, Austin, MN; four brothers, John Krueger, Jr. and his wife Betty, Fairmont, Dennis Krueger and his wife Elsie, Canon City, CO, Dale Krueger, Tulsa, OK and Walter Krueger, Fairmont and one aunt, Jackie Rahm, Trimont, MN. She was preceded in death by her parents and one sister in infancy, Violet.
