Doris Lucille Cooley

Doris Lucille Hauskins was born on May 31, 1918 in Atlanta Township, rural Detroit Lakes, MN to George and Minnie (Jacobson) Hauskins. She attended country school. On August 7, 1939 Doris married Gerald Cooley in Algona, IA. They lived in Le Center, MN, the Blue Earth area and later moved to Fairmont in 1952. Doris worked as a cook for Koenig's Luncheonette, F.W. Woolworth's as a manager and cook and worked for Freitag Floors and Doolittle's. She retired in 1984. Doris was a member of the United Methodist Church in Fairmont, Martin County VFW Auxiliary Post 1222, the Northrop American Legion Auxiliary Post 522 and Disabled American Veteran's. Doris spent much of her time doing volunteer work and working with her flowers. She loved to spend time with her family and friends and will be greatly missed. Mrs. Cooley died on Friday, August 24, 2007 at Lakeview Methodist Health Care Center, Fairmont, MN. Doris is survived by one son, David Cooley and his wife Susie of Underwood, ND; two daughters, Cheryl Becker and her husband Jim of Northrop, MN and Judy Spencer and her husband Doug of Elmore, MN; one daughter-in-law, Sandy Cooley of Granada, MN; one son-in-law, Dale Spencer of Apple Valley, MN; four sisters, Sharlette Goodrich of Blue Earth, MN, Sharlene Goins of Forth Smith, AR, Donna Blom of Guckeen, MN, Margaret McPhearson of Denver City, TX; one brother, Donald Hauskins of Lakeview, CA; fifteen grandchildren and twenty-one great grandchildren. Doris was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Gerald; two sons, Dennis and Gary; daughter, Kathy Spencer; four sisters, Mabel Hauskins, Ruth Erickson, Avis Kastner, Iva Hinrichsen; four brothers, Myron Hauskins, Gilbert Hauskins, Archie Hauskins, Mervin Hauskins; grandsons, Trent and Todd Becker, Danny Cooley, Brett, Chad and Zak Spencer; and Doris' special friend Martin Detert and dear friend Margaret Betin.
