Elvira Emma Tietz

Elvira Emma Greiner was born on August 19, 1914 on the family farm in Antrim Township, Watonwan County, MN to Julius and Marie Mohwinkel Greiner. She attended St. John's Lutheran Parochial School-Antrim. On September 13, 1936 Elvira married Harold Tietz at St. John's Lutheran Church-Antrim. They farmed near South Branch their entire life. They retired in the mid 1960's. Harold died on July 27, 1976. Elvira remained on the farm until moving into the Lutheran Manor in 2002. She moved to the Truman Senior Living in 2007. Elvira was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church-South Branch, rural St. James, MN, where she also belonged to Ladies Aid. She enjoyed playing cards and loved animals. Elvira enjoyed spending time with her family. Mrs. Tietz died on Saturday, August 25, 2007 at Truman Senior Living. Elvira is survived by four daughters and sons-in-law, Cordelia "Trudy? Survis and her husband Robert of Litchfield, MN, Darlene Sandersfeld and her husband Dale of Cototpaxi, CO, Elaine Lawrence of Cross Lake, MN, Jeanette Miller and her husband Philip of Truman; one son and daughter-in-law, Wilmar Tietz and his wife Faith of Madelia, MN; 9 grandchildren; 18 great grandchildren and great, great grandchild. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband and her brother Raymond. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials to the hymnal fund at St. John's Lutheran Church-South Branch, rural St. James.
