Violet Alice Grant

Violet Alice Harris was born on July 8, 1914 in Westford Township, Martin County, MN to Bert and Alice (Wilkenson) Harris. She attended Country School District 24 in Westford Township. On May 8, 1934 Violet married Harry Herbert Grant in Estherville, IA. They lived and farmed near Amboy, MN until 1940 before moving to the Truman area where they farmed until 1978. They then moved into Truman. Violet moved to the Lutheran Retirement Home in 1999. Harry died on Aprill 2, 2002. She was a member of Community Baptist Church and the Esther Davis Circle, the Happy Hour Birthday Club and 500 card club. Violet died on Wednesday, May 16, 2008 at the Lutheran Retirement Home at the age of 92 years. Violet is survived by two daughters, Beverly Reutzel, Marshalltown, IA and Rosalie Heckman and her husband Duane of Truman; eight grandchildren; fourteen great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Harry and one grandson, Steven Heckman.
