Larry Lee Freeman

Larry Lee Freeman was born on Sept. 9, 1939 in St. James, MN to Allen and Juanita (Boren) Freeman. He attended school in St. James through the 10th grade and then graduated from Truman High School. Larry farmed with his father in rural Truman. On October 26, 1957 Larry was married to Irene Miller. They had four children. On February 14, 1980, Larry was united in marriage to Marlys (Johnson) Prafke. Larry worked various jobs in the Truman area. He retired from North Central Public Service (Ferrell Gas). Larry was a member of Grace Lutheran Church in Fairmont and the Truman, St. James and Fairmont Gun Clubs. He was one of Minnesota's top rated shooters and has won many trophies and awards for trapshooting. His interests included trapshooting, ATVing in the mountains, hunting and fishing and helping family with projects. Larry loved spending time with his family, friends and his dogs. Larry and Marlys spent their winters in Arkansas with family and friends. Larry will always be an inspiration to his family and friends and will be remembered as an honest, hardworking mentor and a man true to his word. Larry is survived by his wife Marlys of Fairmont; two daughters and sons-in-law, Barb Freeman-Caven and husband Perry of Ceylon, MN, Lori Barchenger and husband Bruce of Fairmont; two sons and daughters-in-law, Lee and his wife Janice of Jackson, Dan and his wife Mary of Fairmont; one step-daughter, Lori Hartwig of Truman; three step-sons, Scott Prafke and wife Kari of Elk Mound, WI, Brad Prafke and wife Brad Prafke and wife Holly, stationed at Okinawa, Japan, Kevin Prafke and wife Kristi of Welcome, MN; eleven grandchildren; six great grandchildren; five step grandchildren; two sisters, Linda Ferguson and husband Charles, Gail Roesler and husband Jerome, and one brother, David Freeman and wife Toni, all of Arkansas. Larry was preceded in death by his parents and one granddaughter, Amber Barchenger.
