Gudron Marie Leng was born on November 5, 1900 to John and Bertha (Johnson) Leng in Lee, Illinois. As a small child she moved with her family to a farm in Waverly Township, Martin County, MN. Gudron attended country school at Dist. 122 and Truman High School. She later worked as a housekeeper and at the bank in Truman. On January 7, 1920 she married John "Jack? Reis at Waverly Lutheran Church. They farmed in the Truman area until retiring to Truman in 1963. Jack died August 2, 1986. Gudron entered the Lutheran Manor in 1990 and the Lutheran Retirement Home in 2000, after her 100th birthday. Gudron was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Truman. She was a member of ladies aid and a charter member of Dorcas Circle. She was also a member of the Lutheran Retirement Home Auxiliary and LWML.
Gudron is survived by numerous nieces and nephews including Marlen and Luverne Halverson of Truman and Roger Reis of Oronoco, MN; Nora Blalock (California); Donald Johnson (Michigan); Jay Johnson (Colorado); Naomi Leng (Minnesota); LaVonne Leng Solomonson (Wisconsin); Betty June Leng Albertson (Colorado); Arnold Gene Leng (Iowa); Gerald Leng (Iowa); Dolores Leng Burk (California); Mary Leng Erickson (Arizona).
She was preceded in death by the following nieces and nephews: Lorraine Leng Mason, Bernice Johnson and John Leng.
Memorial contributions may be given to St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Truman.
