John Adam Jorgenson was born March 11, 1937 in Truman, MN, to Marvin Palmer and Hulda Augusta (Breitbarth) Jorgenson. He was baptized and confirmed at Waverly Lutheran Church, rural Trimont. John attended country school dist. 121 and dist. 54. John worked at the Truman Drug Store during high school. He graduated from Truman High School and attended South Dakota State University at Brookings, SD. John worked for 45 years at Olson Furniture Company, eight years as an employee and thirty-seven years as the owner. John retired in 1999. Since retirement, John has worked at Zaharia Family Funeral Home in Truman. John served on the Truman City Council, Truman Chamber of Commerce, was a member of Interlaken Golf Club, and was a past member of the Truman Lion's Club. He enjoyed volunteering at the nursing home. John was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Truman.
John is survived by three sisters, Dorothy Schmid and her husband Alfred of Fairmont, Dorla Christensen, Blaine, MN, Patricia Dahlheimer and her husband Robert of Alexandria, MN; one brother, Howard Jorgenson and wife Arlawayne of Fairmont and numerous nieces and nephews. John was preceded in death by his parents and one brother-in-law, Floyd Christensen, and one great nephew.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to the American Heart Association or to Lions International.
