Rodney D. Tonn was born on February 23rd, 1945 in Winnebago, MN to Lorenz and Addeline (Schulz) Tonn. He attended parochial school at St. John's Lutheran School-Willow Creek. He graduated from high school in March of 1963 at the Southern School of Agriculture in Waseca. He attended the University of Minnesota. On June 19th, 1965 Rodney married Diane LeMae Moeller at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Fairmont. They made their home in Truman. Rodney began working for John Deere in the fall of 1965 and retied in 1997. He continued to work at his farm near Amboy until his death. He was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Truman. Rodney enjoyed tinkering on his old tractors, camping, fishing and loved spending time with his grandchildren. He also enjoyed watching the Minnesota sports teams. He liked listening to old time music.
Rodney is survived by two daughters and sons-in-law, Dawn Shoen and her husband Donald of Truman, Gayle Jones and her husband Jeremy of Amboy, MN; one son and daughter-in-law, Keith Tonn and his wife Mary of Robbinsdale, MN; five grandchildren, Taylor, Kayley and Derek Shoen and Madison and Jacob Jones; one brother, Jerold Tonn and his wife Sandy of Scottsdale, AZ; two sisters, Roxanna Fuller and her husband Verne of Tucson, AZ, and Cheryl Bujnosek and her husband John of Cortez, CO; three brothers-in-law, Arlen Moeller and his wife Sharon, Fairmont, Wayne Moeller and his wife Betty, Armstrong, IA and Berdean Moeller and his wife Janice, Granada, MN. Rodney was preceded in death by his parents and his wife, Diane in 2002.
