Elvera Dorothy Urban was born September 1, 1926, at Willow Creek, MN to Gustav and Helen (Ulrich) Urban. She attended St. John's Lutheran Parochial School-Willow Creek. On November 25th, 1943 she was united in marriage to Elvin Carl Wegner at St. John's Lutheran Church-Willow Creek, rural Vernon Center, MN. They farmed in Truman for ten years and moved to Amboy in 1953. During this time they raised six children. Elvera worked at Norman's Café in Amboy for several years and at MICO in Mankato for over twenty years. She had a passion for watching the Minnesota Twins and going to Morton with friends. She also enjoyed gardening, picking her raspberries, reading, crossword puzzles and talking and visiting with family and friends. Elvera enjoyed sewing and made many baby blankets to give away. Elvera was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Amboy where she was a lifetime member of the ladies guild and held numerous offices. She was a member of card club in Amboy
Elvera is survived by one son, Steve Wegner and wife Beverly, Red Wing, MN; four daughters, Sherry Rabenhorst and husband John of Mankato, Wendy Osborne of Hilo, HI, Dawn Borchert and husband Mark of Eden Prairie, MN, Brenda Budke of Bloomington, MN; one son-in-law, Greg Katchmark of Plymouth, MN; thirteen grandchildren, Becky Gillich, Brian Rabenhorst, Brent Rabenhorst, Brandon Rabenhorst, Luke Wegner, Levi Wegner, Zach Wegner, Ben Wegner, Miles Katchmark, Anne Katchmark, Joshua Bermoy, Katelyn Budke and Mikayla Borchert; five great grandchildren, Krista and Jenna Gillich, Ethan Rabenhorst, Garret and Ava Rabenhorst; three sisters, LuElla Doering, Mankato, MN, Verona Wilde, Truman and Gladys Belgard, Truman. Elvera was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Elvin (2001); one daughter, Debra Katchmark (2006); one sister, Leona Chamberlain; three brothers, Melvin Urban, Bernhard Urban and Hartwin Urban.
