Oscar Becker

Oscar Becker, son of Mr. and Mrs. Jacob Becker was born on November 5th, 1916 in Glenham, South Dakota. He attended school in South Dakota. In 1932 he moved to the Truman, Minnesota area and worked for area farmers. Oscar entered the U.S. Army in 1943. On May 7th, 1944 Oscar married Rica Deiling at St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Vernon Center, MN. He was employed by the Case Implement Co. (Jennings) in Truman from 1944 until 1961. From 1961 until his retirement in 1980, Oscar worked as a mechanic for The Bosshart Company. Oscar was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Truman. Oscar loved to garden, especially potatoes. He enjoyed mechanic work. Oscar loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren and spending time at the lake. Oscar is survived by his wife of 62 years, Rica Becker, Truman; two sons, William Becker and wife Gloria of Fairmont and Richard "Buzzy? Becker of Truman; one daughter, Betty Wiederhoeft and husband Richard of Fairmont; two grandsons, Dustin Wiederhoeft and Jason Becker and wife Heather; two granddaughters, Kimberly White and husband Matt and Jessica Wiederhoeft; one brother-in-law, John Deiling and wife Judy of Waseca, MN ; two sisters-in-law, Lena Nelson of Winona, MN and Helen Kopischke of Madison Lake, MN. Oscar was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Louis Pahl; two sisters, Clara Neegaard and Caroline Borkenhagen.
