Gladys Ritz Anderson

July 17, 1925 — June 27, 2006

Gladys Lillian Ritz was born on July 17th, 1925 to William and Hulda (Urban) Ritz in Truman, MN. She was baptized and confirmed at St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Truman, by Rev. Herman Heinemann. She graduated from Truman High School in 1943 and began working for Fairmont Railway Motors, riding the train back to Truman on Friday nights. Gladys worked in Chicago from 1944-1946 at Stouffer's Family Restaurant later transferring to the Minneapolis branch of the same company. On May 3rd, 1947 she married John Waldo Anderson and joined Mt. Olivet Lutheran Church in Minneapolis, where she was a member at her death. To this union were born three sons, Craig, Jeffrey and Gary. The Andersons divorced in 1978. For many years Gladys worked at the Edina Country Club until a stroke and cancer forced her retirement. After three months at Sister Kenny in Minneapolis, she returned to the home which she shared with her oldest son, Craig. Later she moved to Mount Dora, FL to live with her youngest son, Gary and his wife Judy. Gladys is survived by her three sons, Craig Anderson, Minneapolis, MN, Jeffrey Anderson and his wife Judy Beard, Apple Valley, MN and Gary Anderson and his wife Judy, Mount Dora, FL; one brother, Raymond Ritz and his wife Elaine, Truman, MN; seven grandchildren and eight great grandchildren. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials to the charity of the donor's choice.
